    Hi Ray,

Thanks for the information on your Orvis rods. Both have 12/64-ferrules.

    Regards,
    Greg

    Hi Ray,
I just sold the 8' Scarborough rod on ebay. I have the Amherst, Pehlam and Berkshire left. These were the best of the bunch. May keep the Amherst since I love the wraps and reel seat. I'd probably be looking for $300 on each. Let me know if you have any other questions.
    Hope all is well.

    Hi Ray,

The tube for your Deluxe originally came with the typical plain round cap with a knurled edge. The hexagonal cap with the engraved "Battenkill" currently with the rod is from a later rod made between about 1972 and 1985. It's not anything to be concerned about. I think that the Dan Bailey catalog sells a replacement cap that is a close match to the original.

    Best regards,
    Greg
